Laundry Love

Laundry Love is a nationwide program that assists low-income families and individuals in doing their laundry. Having clean laundry is a matter of human dignity. The Church of the Epiphany and New Hope Lutheran Church are partnering to assist local low-income single parent families, so they may have clean clothing and linens. Harbor House has provided us with the names of families needing support.

FAQ

We meet at the Coin Op Laundry, 1000 E. Avenida de Los Arboles (near the Dollar Store) on the last Tuesday of each month from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Volunteers from our two churches are on site and provide quarters for the washers and dryers, as well as laundry supplies, to attendees. We do not handle the laundry itself.

Doing laundry these days is costly! Washing and drying for one family can be as much as $40. The Church of the Epiphany and New Hope Lutheran Church are committed to raising a minimum of $200 per month each so that we can offer laundry services to families and individuals.

If low-income families cannot afford to pay for their laundry, it is probable that they bring their children along as they will not be able to pay for childcare. We provide a few crafts and books, to help keep children occupied. The children always remain the responsibility of the parent.
